Organisation overview
Self Help Africa (SHA) and United Purpose (UP) merged in late 2021 to implement projects to end extreme hunger and poverty in sub-Saharan Africa. Job Purpose
United Purpose is going to implement a project named ‘Humanitarian Assistance of Protection and Empowerment for Vulnerable Communities in Rohingya Camp (HOPE)’. For the successful implementation of the project activities, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pharmacy Assistant to provide essential treatment services to Rohingya refugees at the camp level to support the pharmaceutical services at a health post within the Rohingya refugee camps. The Pharmacy Assistant will be responsible for ensuring proper dispensing of medications based on prescriptions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the safe storage and adequate supply of medicines.
Key Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Dispense medications accurately to patients based on valid prescriptions.
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of all medicine deliveries and disbursements.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and inventory control of all pharmaceuticals in the pharmacy.
- Monitor stock levels and raise timely requisitions for medicines to prevent shortages.
- Collaborate closely with the health post team to ensure consistency and accuracy in record-keeping and reporting.
- Notify the Medical Assistant regarding medicine supplies to maintain an adequate stock level at all times.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines related to medicine handling and storage.
- Support routine inventory checks and audits as required.

External: CiC (Camp-in-Charge) & ACiC (Assistant Camp-in-Charge), RRRC (Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner), UNO (Upazila Nirbahi Officer), Site Management and Site Development Authority (SMSD), ISCG (Inter-Sector Coordination Group), Mazhi (Community Leaders/ Representatives), Health Sector Partners, Camp Security Authority.
Knowledge, Experience and Other Requirements:

Educational Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
Experience Requirements
- Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical handling and storage procedures.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting, especially in humanitarian or camp contexts, is an advantage.
Language Requirements:
• Fluency in Chittagonian Dialect & Bengali is required. Proficiency in English is a plus.
