international women’s day
Friday 8th March 2019
12.30pm to 2.30pm
The Kings Head Bistro
15 High Street, Galway
Join Self Help Africa and the Kings Head Bistro staff on March 8th to celebrate the role of women farmers in Africa.
More than half of farmers in sub-Saharan Africa are women, and they produce up to 70% of the food grown on small farms. In spite of this, women receive just a fraction of the support available to men. Join us on International Women’s Day and find out how Self Help Africa is levelling the field for women farmers in Africa. Our guest speaker on the day will be Self Help Africa’s Gender Advisor, Mary Sweeney.
Tickets are priced €30 and include a special 3-course meal. Proceeds from the event will go to Self Help Africa’s work in sub-Saharan Africa.
