INTRODUCTION
Self Help Africa (SHA) is an international NGO dedicated to the vision of an economically thriving and resilient rural Africa. We have 50 years of experience working with smallholder farmers, farmer associations, cooperatives, and agribusinesses across Africa to help farmers grow and sell more food, improve diets, diversify incomes, and make their livelihoods more sustainable and resilient to external shocks. SHA also builds awareness of issues affecting smallholders and represent their interests at policy and institutional level.
Self Help Africa has merged with Unite Purpose (UP) and sees UP become part of The Gorta Group, which trades as Self-Help Africa. The amalgamation will see the organisation support close to five million people annually with poverty eradication projects that focus on agriculture, nutrition, enterprise development, climate adaptation, water, and sanitation across 17 different countries, mainly in sub-Saharan Africa, Bangladesh, and Brazil.
SHA is a core member of The Gorta Group which is composed of a group of innovative organizations driving sustainable economic and social change across Africa. Comprising Self Help Africa, Partner Africa and TruTrade, the Gorta Group combines expertise in market-based solutions to poverty and rural development; climate change mitigation and resilience; trade facilitation and farmer and worker rights; underpinned by an inclusive ethos that specifically targets women and youth. SHA now has over 700 staff worldwide. We are currently implementing a portfolio of 80 projects in Bangladesh, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Uganda, and Zambia funded by a variety of institutional and private donors including the European Union, Irish Aid and World Food Programme.
Project Background
In 2024, Self Help Africa secured funding from the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) to implement a WASH systems strengthening programme across Nigeria and Sierra Leone. Nigeria is leading the overall consortium and programme implementation within the country, while GOAL is leading the work in Sierra Leone. The programme aims to strengthen the systems required to deliver and sustain reliable, resilient, and inclusive WASH services. It will run for four years in Kano and Cross River States, with a national coordination hub based in Abuja.
TENDER NAME: Procurement of WASHCOM Branded Field Jackets
- Self Help Africa (herein referred to as the Procuring entity) invites interested and prospective tenderers to supply WASHCOM Branded Field Jackets.
- Eligible candidates have been invited to bid through open tender.
- Prices: The quoted prices should be net inclusive of all taxes and delivery costs. All quotations are sought on a competitive basis and all prices will be subject to detailed scrutiny and may be subject to negotiation to ensure value for money is obtained.
- Currency: Your bid must be submitted in Naira
Any resultant Contract will be placed in the currency of the quotation. The bidder shall not be permitted to amend the currency of their quotation once the quotation has been submitted.
It is the responsibility of the bidder to ensure that the correct reference and closing date are included on the electronic message header of all messages pertaining to the quotation. The tenderer is responsible for ensuring that for any quotation delivered in separate files, that the files are numbered sequentially and contain the above details. If, in Self Help Africa opinion, such information is not included then this will result in the quotation being rejected.
