Cha-cha for a cause: Strictly for Africa now recruiting for dancers!

Self Help AfricaFeatured, News

Are you looking to try something different, or perhaps a fun way to get fit? Gorta-Self Help Africa are hosting our third Strictly Come Dancing event on Saturday 9thย June 2018, and weโ€™re now recruiting for dancers!

ย Thereโ€™s no experience necessary โ€“ youโ€™ll be paired up with and trained by a professional choreographer, where togetether youโ€™ll learn a dance to perform on the night at the Talbot Hotel, Stillorgan, in front of a crowd of 500 people. The event is a professional and polished affair, similar in format to the BBC TV show โ€“ complete with costumes, lights and all that jazz.

ย Training starts mid-April, once a week in Stillorgan. Thereโ€™s a fundraising element, with each dancer required to raise a minimum of โ‚ฌ500 (most raise this via an online platform and/or friends, family and colleagues), and sell some tickets for the event.

All our previous Strictly participants have absolutely loved the experience โ€“ itโ€™s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

ย So, join us and cha-cha for a great cause โ€“ youโ€™ll be helping Gorta-Self Help Africa continue our vital work helping farming families in sub-Saharan Africa improve their lives and lift themselves out of poverty.
