Self Help Africa put the ‘global’ into the Global Green at Electric Picnic – inviting festival-goers to share their wishes for a better world, on a journey ‘Around the World in 80 Actions.’
Participants at the annual festival from August 31-September 2 channelled their inner Phileas Fogg, donning top hats and tails and adding their Action to the world – literally! Check out all of the fun on our Instagram story!
Inspiration to take action was provided throughout the weekend by the Sustainable Development Goals, showcased as part of the Global Green. Some of the 17 Goals featured amongst the wishes of EP-goers included the themes 1:No Poverty, 2:Zero Hunger, 4:Quality Education, 5:Gender Equality, 10: Reduced Inequality, 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, plus more.
The United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals were adopted in 2015 with the aim of ending poverty, protecting the planet and ensuring prosperity for all by 2030.
