Have you considered setting yourself a great charity challenge in 2015?

If so, we might just have a proposition that will interest our Shropshire supporters.

Self Help Africa is currently recruiting volunteers to join us at a series of great challenges that are taking place in the coming months.

On June 6th next we are seeking volunteers to join us at the Princess Royal Hospital for ‘The Social Network 2015′,  a charity event that is inviting competitors to ‘walk, run or ride’ from Princess Royal  Hospital to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in the town.

The ‘house’ charity for this year’s event is Lingen Davies Cancer Fund, while competitors can also raise funds if they wish for their chosen cause.

The three events include ‘old faithful’, an 18 mile walk. a 34 mile fun cycle on tarmac roads that also takes in Ironbridge, Atcham and a route along the Severn,  and an 18 mile charity run.  To find out more about the event click here, and to register for the Social Network challenges you want to take on, click here.  Admission cost to each event is £10.

The second of our challenges is the Shropshire Highlands Cycling Challenge, which takes place from Ludlow Rugby Club into the Shropshire Hills on Sunday, 14th June next.  A challenging 65-miles ride through spectacular scenery,  the event is a great, but tough day out and a memorable experience for anyone who has done it.  To find our more about the Highlands Cycle click here. Admission cost is just £11.

The third of our Shropshire challenges takes place on Sunday, 21st June, when we will again have competitors taking part in the Shrewsbury Half Marathon, an event that takes place from the County Showground in mid-Summer.

Find our more about this year’s event click here. Admission cost is £24.50.

Supporters who are interested in joining us at any of the above challenges will be provided with tee-shirts and whatever assistance you might require to raise sponsorship for your efforts, while a dedicated member of our team will be available to lend whatever support your might need.
