Africa Day is an annual event to celebrate African unity and culture held on the 25th of May. It has been celebrated around the world since 1963 and commemorates the founding of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU).
This year’s theme is the same as last year’s: SilencingTheGuns: Creating Conducive Conditions for Africa’s Development and Intensifying the Fight against the COVID-19 Pandemic.
At Self Help Africa we’re committed to celebrating the diversity of the African continent while reflecting upon the common challenges that remain; particularly in relation to Covid-19, climate change, agriculture and gender equality.
To celebrate Africa Day this year, we’re inviting you to Join Team Green Self Help Africa for just €5/£5. For every €5/£5 raised by Team Green, we’ll plant a tree in Ireland and 10 trees in Africa!
