Self Help AfricaFundraising, News

Self Help Africa’s incredibly successful Secret Supper series celebrated its tenth anniversary on 17th April, with another sell-out event, sponsored by local law firm Aaron & Partners.

The popular charity dining event welcomed 240 guests to a drinks reception at Tanners Wines, before getting underway on a safari dining experience taking in three ‘secret’ restaurants for a mystery starter, main course and dessert.

The twice-yearly event has raised over £125,000 since 2014. Steph Smith, Self Help Africa UK fundraising manager, says: “It was fantastic to celebrate Secret Supper’s 10th birthday with yet another sell-out event, raising £7,459.70 – the most of any of our Secret Supper events to date! It was all made possible thanks to the support of our sponsor Aaron & Partners, and all of the host venues, guests and volunteers that were part of such a special evening. A huge thank you to you all! We’re already looking forward to the Autumn Secret Supper on World Food Day.”

The mystery Secret Supper menus showcase Shrewsbury’s colourful culinary scene, with participating restaurants at the latest editions including: Terrace, Number Four, Loopy Shrew, Beefy Boys, CSONS and Rhubarb at Draper’s Hall.
