We’re delighted to be able to give you a chance to double your donation to Self Help Africa in the lead up to Christmas, this year.

Thanks to the fantastic Big Give Christmas Challenge donations that are given to Self Help Africa’s special project will be doubled by ‘Big Give’ the UK’s biggest online match-funding campaign.

For seven days, from 12 noon on 3rd December to 12 noon on December 10th, every contribution, big or small, that’s made to us through the Big Give Christmas Challenge will be doubled, meaning that we can achieve twice as much with your donation on behalf of the people with whom we work.

Funds raised this year will be invested in a three-year project that is setting out to improve food, nutrition, income security and the resilience of 3,000 rural poor households in three of Zambia’s poorest districts.

In a region with high levels of childhood malnourishment and stunting, and where many farmers cannot produce adequate amounts of food, households are heavily dependent on fragile wetlands to farm, and support their families. The project, PRESERVE, aims to both increase food production in a sustainable way, while supporting wider efforts to protect and rehabilitate the natural environment.

Donations to this project via theBigGive.org.uk will be matched for 7 days from 12pm (midday) on 3rd December.

An amazing £10,000 of match-funding is available and donations will be doubled until the funds run out.

A gift of £25 this Christmas could be doubled to £50, helping to support many more farmers and their families to earn a living.
