On Friday, May 15th, Boston showed up and made history. At the 2026 Self Help Africa Change Makers Gala, we achieved record-breaking fundraising through our special appeal supporting Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) across all seven of SHA’s countries. This was more than a fundraising milestone — it was a direct investment in women who are already doing the work, saving together, building together, and creating lasting economic change from the inside out. The evening will include a cocktail reception, gourmet dinner, silent auction, live music, guest speakers, and an exciting live auction and paddle raise led by Pat Tully.

All funds raised on the evening will support life-changing work- including investments in entrepreneurs and small businesses, expanding access to clean water and sanitation, improving nutrition, building climate resilience, and empowering communities to thrive on their own terms through localization and sustainable development.
