Self Help Africa (SHA), an international development Organization based in Nairobi with headquarters in Ireland, and having operations in 9 countries across East, Southern and West Africa, works with smallholder farmers, farmer associations, cooperatives and small and medium size enterprises (MSMEs) in the agribusiness sector with a goal of increasing the competitiveness of various agricultural value chains while addressing dietary and gender challenges among the actors, and more so the smallholder farmers.
SHA Kenya, received a funding from the European Commission to implement a 5-year program called, Strengthening the Competitiveness of the cassava Value Chain in Kenya. Self Help Africa seeks the services of a BDS consultant to build the capacity of the MSMEs, farmer cooperatives and farmer business groups in various aspects of food product development, handling and safety through mentor-ship and/or coaching support to address main obstacles to their growth.
