This Christmas, we\u2019re delighted to be taking part in the UK\u2019s biggest online match-funding campaign to improve child nutrition and sanitation in Baringo County, Kenya. The Big Give Christmas Challenge takes place over one week from 28th November to 5th December and we have \u00a315,000 of match-funding available to double your donations.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following five consecutive below-average rainy seasons and, more recently, flash floods – the ASAL (arid and semi-arid) region of Kenya is facing immense humanitarian needs. Over 5.4 million people are currently food insecure, and children\u2019s lives and futures are at risk, with rising malnutrition and a high dropout rate in schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By supporting our Big Give Christmas Challenge you\u2019ll be helping to deliver nutrition and health education to 30 schools in Baringo County, alongside the provision of kitchen gardens and small livestock rearing; to improve dietary diversity whilst providing an income generating and learning activity. Schools will also receive rainwater harvesting and storage equipment, to improve access to water, and hand washing kits for hygiene and sanitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
