£5 for a child, £10 for an adult and £25 for a family
We’re all spending most of our lives indoors at the moment. So, we’ve come up with a great way to stay active, connected, and help the planet too!
Whether it’s your daily exercise outing, laps of the garden, up and down the stairs, around the sofa or on the spot – just keep moving for the Tree Steps Challenge.
For every 5,000 steps you record in 30 days – a tree will be planted in Africa!
We’ll share tips and motivation throughout your challenge, as well as information on all those wonderful trees you’ll be stepping towards, and what they mean to African families.
How does it work?
It’s £5 for a child (under 18), £10 for an individual adult and £25 for a family of 4 or more to register. Once you sign up, you’ll receive your Tree Steps log sheet, to keep track of your steps. You can use the activity tracker on your phone, a pedometer, wearable tracker (FitBit etc), or just give us your best estimate – whatever is easiest.
Submit this within 30 days of registration and we’ll e-mail you the Tree Steps virtual medal, to share on social media – and a count of the number of trees you’ll be planting from those steps!
Once your trees have been planted, you’ll also receive the GPS location so that you can see them via satellite as they grow. In Africa, trees not only help remove harmful greenhouse gases from the atmosphere, they also provide an important source of food, income, shade and shelter for rural poor households.
This year, we’re hoping to plant one million trees in Africa. For more on our tree planting efforts, please visit One Million Trees.
Stay Home. Stay Active. Plant Trees.
