Based on the hit TV show Strictly Come Dancing – it’s  Self Help Africa’s Dance For A Difference! We’re looking for  fledgling fox-trotters, to take part in a dance-off in December in partnership with the British Red Cross!

Can I Dance For A Difference?

Yes! (As long as you’re 18 or over). No experience is necessary – you’ll be paired up with a professional dancer/choreographer. After nine weeks of training, you’ll be fully prepared to perform on the night!

Keen to be a Dance For A Difference star? Call Frankie on 028 90 232064  or  07712 816375 (outside office hours) or email frankie.mcclure@selfhelpafrica.org  if you’d like more information, or to sign up!

WHAT AM I SIGNING UP FOR?

The main aim of Dance For A Difference is to have fun, and raise money for a great cause!

Here’s all the details:

  • Dance Training: Once a week for 2 hours, starting 2nd  October -you’ll need to commit to this time to perfect your dancing skills ready for the Dance For A Difference live show on 1 December!
  • Raise sponsorship: We ask that as a dancer, you raise a minimum of £250 – this will contribute to the cost of choreography and the overall fundraising goal.
  • Sell tickets to the Dance For A Difference Live Show: You’ll receive an allocation of 10 tickets to sell at £10 each – Bring your friends, family, neighbours, colleagues, and anyone else you can think of to cheer you on as you Dance For A Difference!

Why Dance For A Difference?

Your fundraising efforts will support the work of Self Help Africa – supporting rural poor communities in sub-Saharan Africa to grow more and earn more from their small farms.

We know that this approach works, and with your help, we can expand our work and help people living in even more fragile areas.

Dance for a Difference is also an opportunity to take up a new challenge, get fit and meet new people – and to have fantastic fun doing it!

A Final Note…

We’re teaming up for Dance For A Difference with Ballroom Blitz NI, who have over 40 years experience of dancing and teaching. Their professionals will take you through the choreography step-by-step – making sure you’re ready to dazzle on the big night!

If Dance For A Difference doesn’t quite sound like your thing – perhaps a friend, colleague or family member would like to take part? Please pass this information on! Or perhaps your business would like to fly its flag at Dance For A Difference by nominating a dancing couple to take part?
