Figures from business, public life and academia from both sides of the Atlantic will tee-off in a unique charity golf showcase, in support of the work of Gorta-Self Help Africa.<\/em><\/p>\n Taking place on September 1st<\/sup> 2016, Gorta-Self Help Africa is delighted to be the charity partner of \u2018Gateway Cup 2016<\/a>,\u2019, which will be held at two of County Wicklow\u2019s most illustrious courses.<\/p>\n Run by not-for-profit organisation Ireland Gateway to Europe, the competition will be the largest international business golf event ever held in Ireland.<\/p>\n Teams from Ireland, Boston College and Georgia Tech, Atlanta will compete in an event that will welcome 150 players, including a number of leading US business CEOs, politicians, figures from the world of business, and senior representatives from Boston College and Georgia Tech universities.<\/p>\n Gorta-Self Help Africa\u2019s West of Ireland fundraiser Alan Kerins<\/a>, a former Irish GAA legend, will act as vice-captain to broadcaster George Hook of the Irish team competing in the event.<\/p>\n The tournament will take place at two of North Wicklow\u2019s leading courses – Woodbrook Golf Club outside Bray and Powerscourt Golf Club, both situated in the heart of the \u2018Garden of Ireland.\u2019<\/p>\n By sponsoring a hole at both courses, corporate participants will raise \u20ac1,000 euros in support of Gorta-Self Help Africa\u2019s work with rural poor communities in Africa.<\/p>\n To find out more visit: www.thegatewaycup.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Figures from business, public life and academia from both sides of the Atlantic will tee-off in a unique charity golf showcase, in support of the work of Gorta-Self Help Africa.<\/p>\n Read More<\/a>","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":5456,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[637],"tags":[746,747],"class_list":["post-5454","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-alan-kerins","tag-events"],"yoast_head":"\n
