Gorta-Self Help Africa is a member of the Irish Consortium on Gender Based Violence, an alliance of International human rights, humanitarian and development organisations who campaign for a world free from gender-based violence.<\/p>\n
Established in 2005 as a response to reports of ongoing and systematic sexual violence against women and girls in the Darfur Region of Sudan, the consortium works to increase knowledge and understanding of violence against women and girls, and to ensure high quality programming and policy responses, in both Humanitarian and Development settings. It also seeks to build leadership to support our shared vision of a world free from gender-based violence.<\/p>\n
The group has just launched its ’16 Days Online Exhibition,’ highlighting a range of stories of courage, determination and change provided by Irish members.
