Cha-cha for a cause: Strictly for Africa now recruiting for dancers!

Self Help AfricaFeatured, News

Are you looking to try something different, or perhaps a fun way to get fit? Gorta-Self Help Africa are hosting our third Strictly Come Dancing event on Saturday 9th June 2018, and we’re now recruiting for dancers!

There’s no experience necessary – you’ll be paired up with and trained by a professional choreographer, where togetether you’ll learn a dance to perform on the night at the Talbot Hotel, Stillorgan, in front of a crowd of 500 people. The event is a professional and polished affair, similar in format to the BBC TV show – complete with costumes, lights and all that jazz.

Training starts mid-April, once a week in Stillorgan. There’s a fundraising element, with each dancer required to raise a minimum of €500 (most raise this via an online platform and/or friends, family and colleagues), and sell some tickets for the event.

All our previous Strictly participants have absolutely loved the experience – it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

So, join us and cha-cha for a great cause – you’ll be helping Gorta-Self Help Africa continue our vital work helping farming families in sub-Saharan Africa improve their lives and lift themselves out of poverty.
