The partners implementing GREEN Tech4CE are all committed to being open, honest and accountable. We work towards being transparent in all of our operations.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Below are our policies on Whistleblowing and Anti -Corruption. Please report using one of our confidential channels should you come across wrong-doing associated with GREEN Tech4CE.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

Purpose of Policy <\/span><\/h2>

Very occasionally, as in all large organisations, a person or persons working with or for the organisation may appear to be acting improperly, negligently or criminally.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The organisation encourages individuals, and organisations with whom it works in partnership, (who act in good faith) to report serious malpractice in accordance with the procedures set out below. We will ensure that those who raise concerns of suspected serious malpractice are protected from dismissal, victimisation or any other detrimental treatment provided that they follow the procedures set out below.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

People to whom a disclosure of serious malpractice is made should ensure that this policy and procedure is the correct one to follow in the circumstances.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Scope of the Policy <\/span><\/h2>

This policy covers all employees to deliver on its mission including all salaried employees globally, suppliers, volunteers, children and the target population of the organisation\u2019s work. It applies whether or not the information could be deemed to be confidential and whether the alleged malpractice is occurring in Ireland, UK or overseas.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

Objectives of the Policy <\/span><\/h2>

The purpose of this policy is to provide an effective procedure for people to raise their concerns when they believe that abuse, serious malpractice or professional misconduct has taken place, is taking place or is likely to take place.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is essential that anyone connected with the organisation that suspects or knows that serious malpractice has taken place, is taking place, or is likely to take place raises their concerns in line with the procedure described in this document.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

ANTI-BRIBERY & ANTI-CORRUPTION <\/span><\/h2>

Purpose of Policy <\/span><\/h2>

It is Self Help Africa\u2019s policy to conduct our business in an honest and ethical manner. We take a zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption and are committed to acting professionally, fairly and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships wherever we operate. This includes implementing and enforcing effective systems to counter bribery.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We will uphold all laws relevant to countering bribery and corruption at HQ level and at country office level, and are bound by the laws of the Ireland and the UK in respect of our conduct both at home and abroad. In accordance with this zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption, no Self Help Africa director, worker or third party representative should offer or accept a bribe.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

Who Is Covered by the Policy? <\/span><\/h2>

This policy applies and will be made available to all those working for us or otherwise providing service for us or on our behalf, working at all levels and grades, including senior managers, officers, executive and non-executive directors, employees (whether permanent, fixed-term or temporary), consultants, contractors, trainees, seconded staff, home workers, casual workers and agency staff, volunteers, interns, agents, sponsors, or any other person associated with us, wherever located (collectively referred to as workers in this policy).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the eyes of the law bribery can also be committed by any person acting on behalf of Self Help Africa (third-party representatives). Third-party representatives include agents, consultants, contractors and partner organisations.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

Introduction <\/span><\/h2>

A bribe is an inducement or reward offered, promised or provided in order to gain any commercial, contractual, regulatory or personal advantage. Corruption is the abuse of entrusted power for private gain.\u00a0 The purpose of this policy is to set out our responsibilities, and the responsibilities of those working for us, and with us in observing and upholding our position on bribery and corruption.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bribery and corruption are punishable for individuals by lengthy prison terms and if we as an organisation are found to have taken part in corruption we could face an unlimited fine, be excluded from working alongside public bodies and face irreparable damage to our reputation. We take our responsibilities very seriously.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this policy, third party means any individual or organisation you come into contact with during the course of your work for us, and includes actual and potential clients, customers, suppliers, distributors, business contacts, agents, advisers, and government and public bodies, including their advisors, representatives and officials, politicians and political parties.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
